A global automobile manufacturer benefits from a proprietary cross-platform application that allows drivers and passengers to be connected on the road via SYNC AppLink.
Ford Motor Company is a global automotive industry leader based in Dearborn, Mich. The company’s automotive brands include Ford and Lincoln, with about 195,000 employees and 66 manufacturing plants across the world.
With over 18 million vehicles connected to the internet in 2016 and an expected growth to 50 million by 2025, Ford made it a goal to develop a driving experience that would enable drivers to use voice control to stay connected while ensuring they remain focused on the road ahead. With the introduction of Ford SYNC AppLink, the need for a hands-free social media experience emerged. Drivers wished to stay connected with their friends, family, and colleagues on social networks without getting distracted—a completely hands-free social experience.
Meople — an Intellectsoft company — developed an iOS and Android-compatible mobile application that aggregates personal messages from Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Odnoklassniki, and VK and can both display and read information to the driver via Ford SYNC AppLink. Meople.Connector provides a seamless and intuitive way for drivers to stay connected to their friends, family, and the world while keeping their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel. The application uses the driver's phone to access messages on social networks and the vehicle's onboard device to display and read the feed's content to the driver. The whole process occurs in real-time and has been developed to help drivers remain focused on the road while they are behind the wheel.
Meople.Connector can be run on all iOS and Android devices and can be used in all Ford SYNC AppLink-enabled vehicles. The app has been built to help drivers remain both safe and connected during their daily commutes and/or road trips.
